Kaikkiaan Mozart sävelsi Salzburgissa vuosina 1772 – 1780 seitsemäntoista yksiosaista kirkkosonaattia, jotka on alunperin sävelletty soitettaviksi katolisen messun eri osien lomassa. Niistä kolme on sävelletty suuremmalle orkesteriyhtyeelle jossa oli oboe,käyrätorvi, trumpetti ja timpani, kun taas muut 14 kirkkosonaattia on sävelletty uruille, kahdelle viululle ja basso continuolle. Kahdeksassa niistä on urku obligato ja muissa kuudessa urkusäestys

Pian näiden sävellysten jälkeen Mozart lähti pois Salzburgista, ja vähitellen nämä kirkkosonaatit jäivät pois käytöstä, ja arrkipiispan uuden säädöksen mukaisesti messuissa alettiin niiden tilalla laulaa motettisävellyksiä.Tässä konsertissa nämä 14 sonaattia soitetaan peräkkäin toinen toisensa jälkeen.

Ne muodostavat yhdessä kauniin kokonaisuuden, joka luo harmonisen tunnelman kaikille kuulijoille. Kaikkien näiden kahdelle viululle, sellolle ja uruille sävellettyjen kirkkosonaatien esitys kestää yhteensä noin 75 min..

Parman kirkkokvartetin ohjelmisto koostuu suurimmaksi osaksi 1600 - 1700-luvun kamarimusiikkiteoksista. Kaikki yhtyeen jousisoittajajäsenet ovat toimineet Parman konservatorion opettajan toimissa, sekä Parman Toscanini-sinfoniaorkesterin äänenjohtajina ja urkuri konservatorion lisäksi Parman S.Giovanni Evangelistan Luostarikirkon urkurina ja kirkkomusiikin vastuuhenkilönä. Jokainen heistä on soittanut ja levyttänyt sekä solistina että kamariyhtyeissä useissa eri maissa Euroopassa ja sen ulkopuolella.

 

Mario Verdicchio

After obtaining his diploma at Parma Conservatorio he studied in Paris with Marie-Claire Alain. He has taken part in important European Festivals and Organ courses. His repertoire includes the complete works by Bach, and he has given numerous monographic concerts based in particular on the composer's great choral works. He has performed the entire works of César Franck and other contemporary authors, such as Maurice Duruflé, whose Opera Omnia he has performed. He has recorded CDs for “Videorai Fonola” with music by Franck, Liszt, Vierne and Dupré, obtaining enthusiastic appreciation from the main music magazines: Amadeus, Suonare etc.

As official organist in the Abbazia di S.Giovanni Evangelista (Abbey of St. John the Evangelist) in Parma, he is the director of the music festival “Ottobre in Monastero” (October in the Monastery), one of the most appreciated musical events of the city.

He is a teacher of organ as a main instrument at the Conservatorio A.Boito of Parma.

Črtomir Šiškovič

After studying in Trieste and in Ljubljana, in Slovenia, he obtained his diploma at the G.Tartini Conservatoire in Trieste, specialising in violin with Igor Ozim, Franco Gulli, Max Rostal and Viktor Pikaizen and in quartet with the Amadeus Quartet and The Borodin Quartet.

He has played as a soloist with important European orchestras and in prestigious chamber music groups of international renown with world class musicians.

He also collaborates as leader with numerous orchestras in Italy and abroad.

He has played in Europe, the US, Japan, China and Mongolia in the most famous concert halls.

He has made important radio and television recordings of his performances, as well as numerous recordings with various recording studios, notably the complete sonatas for solo violin by G.Tartini.

Satu Jalas

She started studying the violin in Helsinki, Finland. After the diploma at the Conservatorio Santa Cecilia of Rome, she moved to Belgium, where she studied with Arthur Grumiaux in Master Classes and regular individual lessons.for several years with a special attention on the compositions of Mozart.

She has played in numerous European countries and in the USA, in different chamber music ensembles, especially in duo with piano, and both as a soloist and as a member of numerous international orchestras with world famous directors and soloists, with several recordings.

From 1976 to 2007 she has been violin teacher at the Conservatorio A.Boito of Parma. She has been for over 20 years the vice president of the ESTA-Italia branche of the European String Teachers' Association (ESTA).

She has presented numerous lecture - concerts about Jean Sibelius in Helsinki, Rome, London, Prague, Copenhagen, and other cities of Europe and USA, and has recorded for the Ainola Foundation of Finland a collection of various compositions by Sibelius for violin and piano.

Michele Ballarini

He studied at the Conservatorio A.Boito of Parma, obtaining his diploma under Mario Centurione. He is now a teacher of cello at the Conservatorio di Parma.

He is a founder member of the Trio Brahms, and with this ensemble won the “J. Brahms” International competition in Hamburg and the Lyons prize in Florence. He has given over three hundred concerts with the Trio, at some of the most prestigious concert halls in Italy and abroad.

He has periodically played as first cellist in the Orchestra Sinfonica dell’Emilia-Romagna”A.Toscanini”, and has collaborated with the Orchestra Filarmonica della Scala; he is a member of the Orchestra da Camera di Mantova, with whom he has also performed as a soloist. He has recorded for Rai (the Italian radio), the Swiss Rtsi, the German Sdr and the Austrian Orf; he has also made numerous records.
